What to do around Rhoscolyn, Anglesey
Walking

With the White Eagle being a popular feature on the Anglesey coastal path, the pub is going above and beyond in order to cater for walkers. The pub lobby has extra storage for coats, boots, sticks and brollies during the height of the rambling season, and, in addition to enjoying your favourite food and drinks from the menu, we have a wide range of chocolates and snacks so you can stock up for the rest of your trek.

One walk in particular which is a favourite amongst nature lovers visiting Anglesey, is the route running between the popular resort of Trearddur Bay, down to Rhoscolyn. This coastal trail runs along the rocky headlands giving superb views of the sea, as well as the native flora and fauna. The 'eagle' eyed amongst you may even get to see the Peregrine Falcon.

Rhoscolyn Beach

Rhoscolyn is also home to a fantastic beach, situated at the end of the road on which the White Eagle is located. The large, clean and sheltered beach offers even more of the stunning sea views, which can be found all around Rhoscolyn, Anglesey.

Trearddur Bay

The resort of Trearddur Bay, located around 3 miles north of Rhoscolyn, is a very popular area for water-sports and water activities. With sailing, diving and other water sports, as well as the excellent fishing at 'Mackerel Rock', there is plenty to see and do. With golf, squash and horse riding also on offer, there is more than enough here to be able to work up an appetite, so after an exhausting day of sports, why not visit the White Eagle Pub for a refreshing drink or hearty meal.

Anglesey Oyster & Local Food Produce Festival

The festival which is held at Trearddur Bay and now in its 12th year, has become a huge event on the calendar and attracts people from far & wide. This year the event takes place on Saturday the 10th and Sunday the 11th of October and with a widely varied itinerary covering food & drink tasting, local & Irish bands, dancers and fairs, there is definitely something for everyone.

There is a large marquee where the food & drink exhibitors display their wares, including local wine, liqueurs, cheeses, jams and just about anything else you can think of. There are lots of tasting, cookery displays & of course it can all be purchased. In the evenings they have mini singing & dance concerts in the Marquee.

Chefs from all over Anglesey and the wider area produce dishes to be judged to find the local 'Top Chef' as well as other awards. One of these awards is the "Food outlet that makes best use of local produce" which was won by The White Eagle in 2006.
